With a combined experience of over two decades, Mindy Reed and Danielle Hartman have guided clients through the myriad of changes in the publishing industry. This is an exciting time to be a writer, especially since there are so many options to be read. These choices may be overwhelming to aspiring and established authors. However, the process can be much less arduous with a little guidance from those who know the industry.
The Authors' Assistant helps you identify your publishing goals. Then you can select from a menu of services that walk authors through development of projects with a particular focus, such as family memoirs and educational journals, to broad-based nonfiction and fiction works.
Mindy Reed holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Liberal Arts degree in Humanities from Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Business from Kansas State University. She is a librarian and college instructor with membership in various professional writing organizations.
Mindy believes that sharing our stories and knowledge is how we share our humanities. Her favorite authors include Ray Bradbury, Kurt Vonnegut, Barbara Kingsolver, Jane Smiley and Jared Diamond.
Danielle Hartman holds a Bachelors Degree of English Literature from the University of Texas at Austin. In 2009 Mindy Reed asked her to join The Authors' Assistant as the social media specialist to provide clients an Internet presence. Her aspiration as a social media developer is to promote work that is worth reading.
Danielle believes that word-of-mouth is still the best form of promotion in today's publishing industry, and the best way to get people talking is continual marketing via social media venues such as Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads and Youtube. Her favorite writers include: Nathaniel Hawthorne, TC Boyle, Jon Krakauer, Roald Dahl, Elizabeth Kostova, and David Sedaris.
